ITINERARY:
DAY
1 Arrive Phoenix
Welcome to Phoenix! A complimentary transfer is provided
to the Trafalgar hotel. The Tour Director is at the
hotel this afternoon to greet you and answer questions.
Join us at 6:00pm for a Welcome Reception at the hotel.
Hotel: Four Points by Sheraton Phoenix Metrocenter
DAY 2 Phoenix – Sedona
Heading north, we travel through the enigmatic landscape
of the upper Sonoran Desert dotted with the conspicuous
saguaro cactus. We then enter breathtaking Red Rock
Country and arrive at Sedona. The afternoon is yours to
explore this charming community renowned for its art
galleries, delightfully eclectic shops and spectacular
setting. As the sun sets, marvel at the rock formations
glowing in brilliant orange and red hues. (Full
Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 3 - Sedona - Grand Canyon National Park
We head north through spectacular Oak Creek Canyon
climbing high onto the Kaibab Plateau. Now surrounded by
Ponderosa pine forests, we continue towards the awesome
Grand Canyon National Park, one of nature's greatest
sights. Watch the colors change on the canyon walls as
the sun sets. (Full Breakfast)

DAY 4 Grand Canyon – Monument Valley – Kayenta
Spend the morning exploring the canyon and Canyon
Village or take an optional flightseeing tour over the
canyon. We then travel through the Navajo Reservation
and on to one of America's most famous landscapes,
Monument Valley Tribal Park. Here we join a local guide
and explore this remote and remarkable landscape. (Full
Breakfast / Dinner)

DAY 5 Kayenta – Mesa Verde National Park –
Durango (2 nights)
Explore Mesa Verde National Park, one of the
best-preserved ancient Indian cliff dwellings in the
Southwest. We stop at several of the park's most
interesting features and have the opportunity to explore
one of the sandstone dwellings built into the sides of
the canyons. Then, as an option, enjoy a real American
West experience as you ride atop or inside authentic
horse-drawn stagecoaches into the scenic Weber Canyon
for a sunset BBQ dinner with all the fixin's. Continue
on to the cowboy town of Durango. (Full Breakfast)

DAY 6 Durango – Silverton excursion
Today ride the Narrow Gauge Railroad (optional) or ride
aboard the coach along the Million Dollar Highway. By
train or by coach you end in the historic mining town of
Silverton. Step 100 years back in time, as you explore
the historic buildings, quaint art shops and learn of
the colorful local history. (Full Breakfast)
DAY 7 Durango – Santa Fe (2 nights)
We journey south through Indian Country and central New
Mexico to Santa Fe, perhaps the greatest city in the
Southwest and North America's oldest capital city. On
arrival, join a private guided city tour by open air
trolley and discover the historic highlights of this
magical city. Dinner tonight is served at a local
restaurant. (Full Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)

Day 8 - Sante Fe at leisure
The entire day is yours to do as you please. Explore the
city further on your own, visit the museums on the
Plaza, the Governor's Palace, the famous Loretto Chapel,
or wander down the artist colony of Canyon Road. This
afternoon, perhaps join our optional excursion to Taos -
explore the historic plaza, join a native guide for a
visit to Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and
National Historic Monument, then end the day with a
relaxing float trip down the Rio Grande River followed
by dinner served by Pueblo Indian families. (Full
Breakfast)
Day 9 - Santa Fe – Pecos National Historic Park –
Albuquerque
Visit Pecos National Historic Park and drive to
Albuquerque. (Full Breakfast)
Hotel: Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town / Nativo Lodge
DAY 10 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta
Join the Mass Ascension and watch in awe as hundreds of
colorful and unique-shaped balloons rise gloriously in
the crisp autumn morning skies. Tonight, get ready for a
real treat at the Balloon Glow. Just before dusk, the
burners of hundreds of balloons are ignited and the
evening sky fills with a kaleidoscope of brilliant,
luminous colors that is truly magical. Top off the
evening with the spectacular Afterglow Fireworks Show.

Day 11 - Albuquerque – Petrified Forest –
Flagstaff
Our first stop is at Acoma Pueblo Sky City, where we
join a native guide for a tour of this unique village,
the oldest continuously inhabited community in North
America. We return to Arizona and stop at the Petrified
Forest National Park, one of the world's largest and
most colorful concentrations of petrified wood.
Traveling through beautiful Ponderosa pine forests, we
arrive in beautiful Flagstaff, a city with a strong
Route 66 heritage. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Hotel: Little America
Day 12 - Flagstaff- Depart Phoenix
Before breakfast, perhaps take a stroll along the
resort’s hiking trail through 500 breathtaking acres of
private Ponderosa forest and mountain peaks. We then see
Flagstaff’s historic 1890’s downtown before we return to
Phoenix where a complimentary transfer is provided to
the Phoenix International Airport and the Trafalgar
hotel in Phoenix for passengers extending their stay.
